Al-Ghazali is a highly influential figure in the development and understanding of Sufism. He perceives Sufism as the path to profound self-knowledge and the highest spirituality. Based on the aforementioned description, this discussion focuses on uncovering Al-Ghazali's thoughts on Sufism and highlighting his role and contribution to the development of Sufism as a field of study and a spiritual movement in the Islamic world. There are three key concepts in Al-Ghazali's Sufi thoughts: tawakkul, asceticism, and ihsan. Asceticism teaches the importance of distancing oneself from the world and focusing on the spiritual aspects of life. Patience emphasizes the significance of enduring life's trials with strength and perseverance. Tawadhu refers to humility and simplicity in behavior, avoiding excessive pride or seeking validation from others. Tawakkul is a concept similar to reliance, advocating complete dependence on God in all aspects of life. Muhasabah involves introspection, requiring regular evaluation of actions and rectifying deficiencies in worship. Learning media serves as a tool to facilitate the learning process, making education more accessible and better comprehended, ultimately achieving educational goals effectively and efficiently. Learning resources in Sufism or related fields vary based on context and educational objectives. Sufism stands as a branch of Islam emphasizing spiritual and mystical aspects.
